Badass Beats Vol.2

I’ve been meaning to do this post for a while. I posted the Badass Beats Vol.1 in December last year so it’s about time I did Vol.2
Music plays a huge part in my life, not only is my husband a musician but I don’t go anywhere without my mp3 player and 9 times out of 10 I write to music. Music is one of those constants in life. I don’t know what my life would be like without the bands I love, the music that has shaped me and the lyrics I turn to in the hard times and the good.

So here is it, The Badass Beats Vol. 2 – Enjoy!

Soundgarden – Jesus Christ Pose

Well, this year took one of the big players didn’t it? Chris Cornell died on the 18th of May and in such sad circumstances. I love Soundgarden so thought I’d start off the play list with one of their best songs.

Skunk Anansie – Yes It’s Fucking Political

I haven’t liked a lot of the recent Skunk Anansie albums but I love their early stuff and with everything that’s going on in politics at the moment I seem to have this track permanently stuck in my head.

Sa-Roc – Star of Siam

The Goddess MC, I can’t get enough of Sa-Roc at the moment.

Lizzo – Scuse Me

When I first heard this song it didn’t grab me straight away but it’s a grower. Also, I love the video.

Bonnie Tyler – Have You Ever Seen The Rain

Going old school for a moment. I grew up listening to Bonnie Tyler and this is just one of those greats songs that you can belt out at the top of your lungs. Fun Fact! I only just found out that the song is a cover! It was originally a Creedence Clearwater Revival song. (You learn something new every day)

A Tribe Called Red – “R.E.D.”

A Tribe Called Red are awesome and this track is one of the best from their last album.

Foo Fighters – Run

I really like this new Foo Fighters song and it’s been a while since I’ve been able to say that!

Low (feat. RuPaul) by Todrick Hall

I loved Straight Outta Oz Todrick Hall’s visual album and this track with RuPaul is so addictive!

Hail Mary Mallon – Whales

Have had this stuck in my head for the past few days, so here you go.

Peaches – You Love It (feat. Joan Jett)

I can’t believe this album is 11 years old! Where’d the time go?

Atmosphere – January On Lake Street

I just discovered this track last week and I can’t stop playing it.

The Devil Makes Three – Old Number 7

Bluegrass, blues, folk songs about whiskey always grab my attention…

Red Fang – Cut It Short

Red Fang always have fun videos and this one is no exception, plus it’s another stonking track.

Thunder Thighs – Miss Eaves

A body positive anthem with a great video!

Little Simz – Dead Body

Missy Elliott – I’m Better ft. Lamb

Oh Missy, where is the new album?

Bishop Briggs – River

This track was recommended to me via YouTube and it’s a belter!

Turn it up to 11!
