My fellow Badasses,
It’s been awhile huh? Well, I make no secret of my problems with mental health and shortly after my last post I hit a depressive slump.
I had priorities that needed my attention and so I took a break from blogging. I had intended to return to blogging a few weeks later but obviously, that didn’t happen.
It’s important to take care of your mental health, it’s so easy to neglect.
Well, knowing you need a break is a big step in the right direction!
The received wisdom is that getting regular exercise and adjusting your diet to include more fruit and veg is the way to a healthy mind but that just doesn’t cut it!
Sometimes you need something more.
Here are some ways you can keep your mind healthy and practice a little self care.
Keep a diary
Listen to a killer uplifting playlist – and dance to it!
Read a book
Talk to a friend
Join a support group
Organise and declutter
Watch a film you love
Watch an inspiring Ted Talk relevant to your interests
I must also stress the importance of talking to your doctor about your mental health. If you’re struggling PLEASE reach out for help. There is no shame in mental illness and there is no shame in seeking help. You are not alone in this.
